THE PICASAT REMEDIES SCA BEGINS THE PLANTING OF THE CEREAL AND LEGUMINOUS TEST FIELDS

The Picasat Remedies has started today 1 from December to 2021, the sowing of the test fields for the evaluation of different agronomic qualities both in cereals and legumes. This is the second year in which we proceed to such an essay, in which we were able to extract valuable results in its first year in terms of productivity in Durum Wheat.

However, We need confirmation of at least three years to be sure that the most productive varieties are perfectly adapted to our conditions..

This activity is part of the CELEGAND Operating Group, in which COVAP is part, Agrovegetal, Loyola University and Los Remedios Picasat SCA.

The plot is located on the Camino de Trejo, between Torre-alhaquime and our headquarters in Los Villalones (Ronda).

The sowing is divided into two phases one of the sowing of cereals (Hard wheat, Common wheat, Barley and Triticales) which is already done and later for January 2022, we will proceed to the sowing of legumes (Green peas, Broad beans and Chickpeas), in which we will evaluate not only their agronomic attitude as productivity, vigor or ease of harvest, but also their attitude to resistance to diseases such as rabies in chickpeas.

The rise in prices relative to the inputs necessary for the agricultural activity fertilizers, seeds and phytosanitary products among others, they cannot stop the future of our farmers. Therefore, from Los Remedios Picasat, we understand that being part of this project, will give in a short period of time, positive results, especially those related to production and resistance to diseases.

VISITS, TASTING AND COURSES

  • They organize guided tastings by technicians from the Cooperative and by technicians from the Olvera Denomination of Origin. They take place in our facilities of the Cooperative. They are aimed at schools, to consumer groups, hospitality schools, etc.
  • They organize you guided tours to the oil mill, checking the entire oil production process from the entry of the olive.
  • They are also organized visits to the field, to check the olive harvest and other crops.
  • They are taught training courses and talks on the cooperative activities.
