AGRICULTURAL BURNING PROHIBITION

IN DANGER AREAS, BURNS ARE PROHIBITED UNTIL 15 OCTOBER

We are already in times of high fire risk. Thus, the Junta de Andalucía has banned agricultural burning in danger zones until next 15 October. This prohibition is intended to prevent any negligence from causing a forest fire at this time when, due to its meteorological characteristics, there is a high risk of fire.
Specific, restrictions affect the burning of natural vegetation as well as agricultural and forestry residues. In the same way, it is forbidden to light a fire for the preparation of food, including the different camping areas or recreational areas that are equipped for it. Equally, the use of motor vehicles is restricted by forest and forest-influenced areas.
Processing of permits:
Outside the risk period, that is to say, from 15 October, Those interested in carrying out some type of burning can request it through the Cooperative, through either of the two established procedures:
1º- When the burning of agricultural residues is to take place on a plot located less than 400 meters of a forest hinterland (including forest stands, rivers, streams, pasture, …) It is necessary to fill out an application for authorization to present to the Ministry of the Environment of the Junta de Andalucía. The processing of all the necessary documentation can be done at the Los Remedios-Picasat offices..
2º- If there is no zone of forest influence within a radius of 400 meters around the burning site it is no longer mandatory to send a prior communication to the aforementioned competent authority.
On the other hand, the months of October and May are considered medium danger, and from November to April time of low danger, being the burning dates every day of 8:00 from the morning until 18:00 hours. We also remember that, according to the rules of conditionality, referred to good practices in the field, stubble burning is prohibited.

VISITS, TASTING AND COURSES

  • They organize guided tastings by technicians from the Cooperative and by technicians from the Olvera Denomination of Origin. They take place in our facilities of the Cooperative. They are aimed at schools, to consumer groups, hospitality schools, etc.
  • They organize you guided tours to the oil mill, checking the entire oil production process from the entry of the olive.
  • They are also organized visits to the field, to check the olive harvest and other crops.
  • They are taught training courses and talks on the cooperative activities.
